A remote site project for a pioneer camp of 100 people at the Gangama Mineral Sands Project. The contract was negotiated with DRA Engineering acting on behalf of the mine owner. The project was executed on time together with coordination from the client and DRA and with the deployment of local contractors.

One of several projects linking the Tete coal fields in Mozambique. On this project Kwikspace built mobile fly camps for Mota-Engil who were repairing sections of railroad on the old Sena Railway Line from Moatize in Tete.

To assist in the construction of the Neckartal Dam in Namibia, Kwikspace supplied site offices and a remote camp for Salini Impregilo, the construction and engineering company responsible for the build. The structures were set up as site-erected buildings, which allowed for easy transportation of the construction materials and on-site completion according to the clients’ specifications.

As part of the rehabilitation of the Great East Road in Zambia, Kwikspace was awarded the contract to build two camps along the construction route for Mota-Engil. The scope of work included design, manufacture and assembly of various accommodation options, kitchens, diners, laundries, site offices, furniture, and equipment for 300 people.

Construction of a 750-person camp for Vale was awarded to Kwikspace in 2013 after a period of assisting the client with early designs and consultation to find the best solution. The scope of work included the design, manufacture and assembly of accommodation, dining, clinic, recreation, and office buildings. To minimise the risk of rain delays a special temporary assembly line was installed to allow for work to continue under all conditions including multiple shifts.

Design, supply and construction a 300-person accommodation camp in North Eastern DRC under difficult conditions due to civil unrest in the region and exceptionally long supply routes to site.

Manufacture and assembly of all kitchens, diners, laundries, clinics, offices, and recreation buildings for two 350-person camps. Both sites formed part of the Nacala Corridor Railway Project in Malawi and had to be constructed simultaneously to ensure this strategic section of railway line was completed within time to connect to the Tete and Nacala sections in Mozambique.

Design and installation camp buildings for the Sadiola Mine in North West Mali. Accommodation buildings for 200 people were supplied along with technical supervision to assist with training of local labour.

Following the successful implementation of the initial project, Kwikspace was awarded a contract to install a fully equipped camp for 600 people. The scope involved the design, manufacture and installation of accommodation buildings, kitchens, laundries, offices, recreation rooms and gymnasiums plus the supply commissioning and installation of Caterpillar generators, bulk fuel storage, water treatment plants, incinerators, and workshops.

Kwikspace was awarded a contract with short milestones to construct three drilling camps for the Simandou Project in Guinea for Odebrecht. The scope of work included the design, procurement, and installation of all equipment to operate three remote exploration camps for 400 people. The work included Caterpillar generators, water treatment plants, commercial kitchen and laundry equipment and all furniture and facilities.

Design and construction of a 400-person camp in Palapye Botswana. The scope of work included accommodation buildings, canteen, offices, recreation areas and water treatment plants. The project’s implementation was unique in that the accommodation buildings were transported from South Africa fully assembled and pre-commissioned.

Kwikspace was contracted by Sogester the terminal management company in Angola to Design, fabricate and instal administration offices, a canteen, and dormitories for Sogester, the Angolan Port administrator. The project was of strategic importance to the client since the Port of Luanda was under pressure to clear the port’s congestion at the time.

Design, fabricate and install a training facility on the outskirts of Soyo in Northern Angola for Bechtel as part of the Angola LNG Project. The scope of work included accommodation buildings, recreation centres, an industrial kitchen, canteen, cold storage, lecture rooms, workshops, sports fields, generators, and water treatment plants.
